As the big day approaches I wanted to remind everyone what a wonderful time we’re going to have. In fact I have 5 reasons that this will be one of the biggest days we’ve ever had at NCC.
- You Have a Great Reason to Invite Someone
It can be hard to “cold call” a non-church attender. We should be so passionate about Jesus that the awkwardness of inviting someone to church shouldn’t matter, but we all know that it does. Now you have a great reason to invite someone…free food, live music, a petting zoo (what?!) and prizes.
That makes it a lot easier to say, “Hey, my church has this event Sunday and it’s going to be lots of fun. Want to come?”
- It’s Open to the Public and It’s Free
When invited to the Back 2 Church Sunday Event someone responded, “How much does it cost?” The answer, obviously is, “It’s free!”
Please understand we are putting money into this event so others, those outside of NCC can experience Jesus in a relaxed atmosphere. Take advantage of this “prepaid” opportunity to be the evangelistic hands of Jesus by bringing an unchurched friend with you.
- It’s an Opportunity to Make Sure Our Guests Have Fun
Church can seem like a foreign planet to those who aren’t familiar with its particulars. We’ve set up a day where an unchurched person can experience our worship in a shortened setting and hear our heart from the pulpit in a shortened setting and then get to meet church people in a non-threatening party like atmosphere.
We want to show people that no matter what they’ve experienced or heard that church should be fun.
- Back to Church Sunday Gives You an Event to Which You Can Invite Someone
If I had a dollar for every time I heard someone say, “I wish we had a big event coming up so I could invite my friend,” then…well I wouldn’t have even a dollar, but I know you’ve been thinking it.
What a golden opportunity to reach out to that person that God has put on your heart and invite them to an event that may change their life and maybe even their eternal destiny. Don’t wait, don’t shy away invite them this Sunday. I promise you that they will be welcomed, treated with respect and love. They will hear how much God cares about them and they will be given an opportunity to connect with Jesus in a real way. After that they’ll get fed and entertained for a couple of hours.
It’s a win/win situation. You’ll participate in your friend hearing the good news (that’s kind of the whole purpose of being on earth as a Christian) and they’ll encounter love and acceptance in a way they may never have known existed.
- The NCC Family Gets to Fellowship Around a Big Party
If you didn’t notice the first four reasons were not about you. No, go back and read it again, it was all about others.
The fact is this event is not about our church family it’s about drawing in others who need Jesus. But the great part is whenever we partner with God to bless others we’re blessed as well. We want you to have a great time Sunday. We want you to eat, play games and fellowship with others. But please keep the main thing, the main thing. The main thing is people connecting with Jesus.
So go to the highways and hedges and compel them to come in. (Just so you know that was a scriptural reference not me being poetic)
Let’s make this the most memorable event that we’ve ever done at NCC. Let’s do our part and make room for the Holy Spirit to do His part.
Then let’s party likes it 1999. (If you don’t get that reference then you didn’t grow up in the 80’s)
