Psalm 59:16 AMP- But I will sing of Your mighty strength and power; yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy and loving-kindness in the morning; for You have been to mea defense (a fortress and a high tower) and a refuge in the day of my distress.

Most of us have heard the song, “rainy days and Mondays always get me down…”.

Many times rainy days, Mondays and of course other days are a day of distress in our lives.  As a soccer coach, I do not like rainy days.  At best, it makes for a sloppy day and at its worst, it holds up productivity,  This tends to put anyone in a bad mood or at least in an ungrateful state of mind.  And of course, Mondays are the beginning of a new amount of work that we, many times, fear we won’t be able to do well or we can’t be successful at for a number of different reasons.

There are going to be many rainy days and Mondays in our lives, but according to Psalm 59;16 there is a power from our God that has supplied us to overcome all our fears and our challenges.

The key is a shift in HOW we think!

Singing or speaking out loud about God’s mighty strength and power shifts our focus from our problem to our VERY CAPABLE God and Father.

As our focus shifts from the rainy days, Mondays and all-around negative circumstances of our lives and we begin to channel our thinking purposefully upon the mercy and loving-kindness of our God, then we come to understand that He is with us and fighting our battles alongside us.

Perceiving and deeply knowing God’s love for us empowers us to prosper!

Even in the midst of great adversity our God is our High tower in the day of our distress.  He leads us into victory because of His great love for us!
