Have you ever been lost?  I mean hopelessly lost.  If you’re over 40 maybe the directions you were given were wrong.  If you’re under 40 maybe your phone died and you can’t use GPS and of course you don’t know how to read a map.  In that moment you cannot help yourself, you are in need of help and are dependent on the compassion of others.  Lost people are completely helpless to save themselves.  They must have someone to tell them how to get where they need to go.

Romans 10:13-14 NLT:  For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”  But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?

People who live apart from a relationship with Jesus can find many things by themselves such as human love, a charity to serve, religion and of course sin but they won’t find Jesus by themselves.  Why?  They’re blind.

2 Cor. 4:3-4 NLT:  If the Good News we preach is hidden behind a veil, it is hidden only from people who are perishing.  Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News.

Those who are without Christ are not only lost but they are blind.  They are in need of someone to lead them.  We need to be like seeing eye dogs for those who Jesus died for and loves.  They don’t know the way and they can’t see without YOU!

Matt. 5:14 NLT:  You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.

You cannot be hidden.  You are the light of the world.  Awaken and understand you were saved to help others come into the kingdom.  So don’t allow the enemy push you into a corner because of fear.  No, you were created to reflect the image of our savior.

Also realize people are desperately looking for something spiritual.  Just count all the ghost hunting shows on TV.  People are hungry to know that there is something real after death and if we don’t lead people to truth they will find the false.  The enemy won’t miss his opportunity to help them find it.

Jesus said He came to “seek and save the lost.” (Luke 19:10).  And He commissions us to continue His work.  The God’s Word Translation  of Matthew 28:19 puts it, “So where ever you go, make disciples…”

We are currently in a series on the Lord’s Prayer during our Sunday morning teaching time.  This past Sunday we learned to be bold in asking the Lord for “our daily bread.”  How about making it a part our daily bread petitions to be given the opportunity to share the bread of life with someone.  Yea, get bold and seek to save.  It’s why you’re on the earth!
